“When my Mum knew I was feeling down and dropped off a wellbeing parcel with magazines, loads of plants, sweets and superfoods. It was so lovely and brightened my month.” Keely Brightmore, Founder of Luna Bride on an act of kindness she’s really appreciated

Steering Luna Bride – a fresh, beautifully ethical bridal brand – into sustainable success, is Keely Brightmore, a designer who has been described as “changing the game” by Brides Magazine. Carefully selecting and curating free-spirited bohemian bridal gowns, each delicately crafted from conscientiously sourced sustainable fabrics, there’s no doubt this British bridal label will steal many a bride’s heart with her alluring creations. The brand has just released some new arrivals too, in the form of a sustainable bridesmaid dress collection. Debuting what the designer terms as “a trio of true classics”, the new launch brings forth a contemporary jumpsuit, an effortlessly chic wrap dress and slinky bias-cut slip dress (each available in an array of 10 different shades). Crafted from two of the world’s sustainable fibres (linen and Tencel) these pieces are effortlessly flattering, and will soon be accompanied by matching bags and headbands (coming soon)! I caught up with Keely to get the lowdown on her lockdown and the new collection.

“It has taken a year to work out the perfect ways to create dresses that use high quality production whilst keeping affordability. In a market where many people don’t realise that popular bridesmaid brands continue to use polyester and manufacture in China, this eco-conscious collection is something totally different!” Keely Brightmore, Luna Bride

#1 Provide us with three words that sum-up how you were feeling about lockdown when it first started, and then three words about how you feel now:

Before: “Confused, anxious, stuck.”

Now: “Emotional, creative, hopeful.”

#2 What time do you get up? Has this changed? Is life a little slower? Talk to us about your new daily routine…

“In work life, apart from not being able to do bridal appointments and photoshoots, things are actually quite similar as I am used to working from my home studio and have still been busy. This and daily walks in the surrounding countryside have helped me keep a routine. I like to keep creative everyday – it keeps me sane!”

#3 How is lockdown impacting your business, and how can people support you?

“A lot of my current brides have had to postpone their wedding and I haven’t been able to do any of my bridal appointments. We have been able to continue making dresses from home and I have done some virtual appointments though, which is a great way for brides to still view our dresses and chat about what they want. We were also due to launch our new collection at London Bridal Fashion Week which was cancelled, although we’re still excited to release these soon. People can support by leaving positive reviews, contacting us about making their future wedding dress, or purchasing from our online collections.”
