I caught up (digitally of course) with the designer herself to find out what life if like WFH at Freya Rose…

#2 What time do you get up? Has this changed? Is life a little slower? Talk to us about your new daily routine…

“7ish, we keep to a routine (ish) but the office is now at home and home schooling is part of the new juggling act.”

#3 How is lockdown impacting your business, and how can people support you?

“Weddings are not cancelled they are postponed, we are here for brides. If people don’t feel comfortable buying their shoes right now we are okay with that, if they do then we will be here to assist anyway we can – via, email, calls and Zoom!”

#4 Name three local businesses you are supporting or would like to support more…

No.1 “Our local coffee shop – we still buy ground coffee from them.”

No.2 “Our local florist who is doing home deliveries – flowers make me happy!”

No.3 “We have been donating to local businesses that are offering credit in the future too.”

#5 What’s your favourite isolation snack?

“Peanut butter and almond popcorn.”

#6 What’s your most recommended quarantine pick-me-up when you’re feeling down?

“Saturday night we do vino and a Zoom quiz call with family.”

#7 What’s the item you can now NEVER find in the supermarket (and consequently dream continuously about)…

“I have always found what we need except Cardamom pods! But I can live with that!”

#8 What’s the strangest thing that’s happened during your lockdown period…

“Crazy dreams.”

#9 Favourite app for keeping in touch digitally with friends and family?

“Zoom.”

“Not seeing my Granny and the thought of people being lonely.”

“The race has slowed down.”

“My Granny.”

“My friend offering to hold virtual shoe parties!”

#14 Talk to us about what’s new at Freya Rose?

“We have given away £15,000 worth of pearl earrings to NHS brides due to get married this year – putting a little smile on their face has been rewarding. We also have done a design competition with Love my Dress and are going through the finalists now – it’s been wonderful to see so much creativity in people. We launched our new website this week too!” Click here to see it.

NHS bride-to-be: “Thank you so very much, I received my earrings yesterday. I think there has been a delay with our Royal Mail System but worth the wait. I wore them at work to make my uniform more glamorous.”

#16 Which restaurant will you dine at first once restrictions are lifted?

“Briny – a local fish restaurant on the seafront.”

“I haven’t had the time to read – but if I was to recommend – The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, and Memoirs Of A Geisha by Arthur Golden.”

“Quince gin and tonic with all the fancy bits!”
