Eponymous Australian-based shoe label, Meggan Morimoto has made a move into ready-to-wear this 2022, delivering a truly stylish, yet beautifully sustainable, new bridal shoe collection to the table for the modern bride.

Founded back in 2018, Meggan Morimoto’s unique blend of luxe, contemporary design – paired with traditional techniques and meticulous craftsmanship – fast became a favourite amongst brides searching for their sole mates. “My idea was to design a high heel collection that was both striking in appearance and wearable in design. I wanted to challenge expectations of what a comfort high heel could look like and expand the conventional offering of luxury bridal footwear to include both comfort and style, equally,” explains Meggan. And that she did, with serious aplomb. After swiftly stealing brides’ hearts with her custom-made designs, 2022 has seen the designer branch out into ready-to-wear in the signature Meggan Morimoto approach: considered, slow and sustainable.

The designer’s delivery of heavenly RTW designs (in limited quantities to reduce waste) caused waves throughout the industry. Debuting premium materials (for durability) with a series of beautifully designed, detachable embellishments in tow for bespoke customisation (yes, the brand really has thought of everything), this is a collection that will see you down the aisle in achingly cool style and effortlessly beyond…

With five fresh shoe designs in tow, alongside 10 detachable embellishments, Meggan Morimoto brings brides 25 unique bridal shoe looks to choose from (now THAT’S the kind of maths we like here at Bridal Editor). Designed in Melbourne, and handcrafted in Tuscany, Italy, utilising a multitude of sumptuous materials (think: buttery soft nappa) the five new designs (Alma, James, Victoria, Martina and Tatiana) are all set to make waves on your wedding day. And, embellishment-wise, get ready to choose between everything from elegant clip-on pearl embellishments, show-stopping metallic leather obi bows, structured organza blossoms, shimmering pearl anklets and delicate silk ankle wraps. Excited? We are too.

Plus, you’ll be delighted to know that the designer has not only considered style, but comfort too. Breathable premium Italian nappa leathers allow for dancing feet to feel comfortable and snug all night long, while Meggan Morimoto’s custom-made, hidden comfort insoles (crafted from podiatric memory foam PORON) mould to the foot and provide instant cushioning from aisle to dancefloor (and WAY beyond for many seasons to come). And, as a final flourish, the designs are crafted from a custom collection of lasts that provide an even weight distribution (meaning you won’t experience that all too recognisable feeling at the end of the day where you want to rip your shoes off your feet and throw them out the window – know what we mean?).

The Meggan Morimoto RTW bridal shoe collection starts from $909, with detachable embellishments ranging from $225 – $275. Designs can also be purchased with embellishments already included (from $1,144 – $1,220).
