Rising above all others, the Amaryllis blooms wildly, romantically and with a vivacious vigour. There is a determination in her growth, in her ambition to unfurl her delicate, elegant petals and open her heart to the sun. She is the endlessly resilient bride of the blooms that surround her. She is an Andrea Hawkes bride.
British bridal designer, Andrea Hawkes recently unveiled her latest collection, Amaryllis on the world. Blooming from the designer’s creative inspiration: the Amaryllis flower, the 14 piece line (debuting 12 gowns and two tops) brings forth not only the designer’s celebrated contemporary approach and sublime cut, but a collection that wields a truly timeless selection of aisle-worthy threads that will be earnestly coveted by brides far and wide.

“I designed Amaryllis as a celebratory collection, each look has a unique element that will allow our brides to truly express who they are. We have seen so much strength and determination in our brides over the last couple of years; it only seemed right to design a collection that will make our brides feel proud when walking down the aisle. It’s all about confidence and enabling our brides to really sparkle and shine bright whilst enjoying their special day surrounded by their loved ones. Amaryllis is a celebration of individuality.” Designer, Andrea Hawkes

With sustainability running through the veins of every Andrea Hawkes line, the Amaryllis 2023 Collection, is of course no different. Brides will find only natural silks within the line, not to mention lace “sourced and produced from French mills with ethical working practices.”

Style-wise, architectural box pleat skirts breathe elegance (and a little mystery – with secret pockets lying hidden from sight) whilst flowing, running-across-the-sand-style skirts rise playfully amongst sultry square necklines and chic separates. I especially love the layering aspect of this collection, with the designer’s choice of necklines lending themselves to be paired with, as the brand suggests, “sheer chiffon and georgette silks.” The perfect way to switch things up and make it your own.

And, for those who look to re-wear and reinterpret their wedding day look, Andrea Hawkes’ London studio recently launched a post-wedding alternation service. Why wear Andrea Hawkes for one day, when you can wear it for many, many more?

Amaryllis, the 2023 Collection is available in-store from the 11th August 2022.
