Whether you’re a bride seeking a set of glittering celestial hair pins to adorn wildly tousled locks, or an opulent crown to take you from aisle to spinning under the stars in the arms of your love, the latest limited collections by luxury accessory connoisseur Garter & Veil (not to mention the campaign to showcase them) promise to knock your Casadei platforms off.

Expertly curated under the watchful eye of Natalie, the founder of Luna Rose Events and, in her own words: “a die hard romantic”, together a haul of cherry-picked vendors created a little bit of accessory magic within the enchanting walls of 41 Portland Place in Marylebone, London. Bridal Editor caught up with Gemma from Garter & Veil to get the low-down on the shoot itself (that notably showcases not one, not two, but five of Garter & Veil’s new limited bridal accessory collections)…

#1 What was the vibe you were going for with the editorial? What inspired the cool elegance of this shoot?
“The concept for the editorial was to showcase the new Garter & Veil pieces, an eclectic mix of five limited collections spanning shimmering celestial pieces to intricate botanicals. The designs evoke elegance whilst remaining contemporary and as they are made to order no two pieces are identical meaning every piece is entirely unique to each bride.

Natalie of Luna Rose Events brought together the perfect selection of wedding suppliers to create the ideal stylish and chic environment, set within the historical grandeur of 41 Portland Place in the centre of Marylebone London.
Vegas of Soulfie Photography captured the natural light in the room and kept the backdrops as clear as possible to achieve a modern vibe which in turn of contrast highlighted the classical elements within the venue as a nod to the eclectic style of Garter & Veil.”

#2 Talk us through the accessories featured…
“Garter & Veil designs are handmade to order by Designer Gemma Victoria. Every covetable design is thoughtfully considered for wearability, comfort and longevity of style.
Each collection includes statement crowns, intricate head pieces and detailed hair vines, beautifully coordinated with earrings and pieces suitable for the bridal party (such as hair pins and combs).
The shoot is also a first look at the brand’s luxuriously embroidered and hand-embellished veils which have been created to be worn independently or matched with pieces from the collection.
The editorial features pieces from the following:
FREYA Collection – Abstract celestials and botanicals combine for a modern, striking and fashion forward take on the classic bridal look.
THEAI Collection – Inspired by the ancient goddess of old, using striking plated metal flowers evocative of multi petal roses and luxurious foliage.
DAHLIA Collection – Inspired by the intricate gilded vines found within the architecture of Royal Palaces.
JASMINE – Inspired by the delicate Jasmine flower, it’s meanings and symbolism include love, feminine powers and sensuality – a beautiful floral for a very special day.
ASTERIA – To be amongst the stars, minimal yet dazzling celestial pieces.”

#3 What designer gowns were featured?
“We opted for Medusa London gowns as not only are they designed and handmade in London but their refined, sleek styles are created on a made-to-order basis to ensure that machinery and energy are only used when required which means they can take their time to create high quality products. They also boast luxury sustainable materials such as 100% organic silk certified by the soil association and recycled materials such as zips made of post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.”

#4 What type of bride does the editorial speak to? The modern bride? The traditional bride who wants a modern twist?
“The editorial speaks to the modern bride who appreciates classic styling but wants unique and considered pieces to complete their bridal look.”

#5 Talk us through the makeup…
“Makeup by Rowenna achieved the natural elegant look by using minimal about of product, blending together foundations and cream based highlighters to achieve a fresh glow base that still looks natural.”

#6 Talk us through the hair…
“Vicky Jijjens Bridal chose styles such as soft waves, ponytails and chic low updos which are very much on trend this season. Styles were kept simple to compliment the beautiful, chic dresses, and to not overwhelm the statement accessories.”
