As we roll into a new year, it seemed apt to share this incredible editorial (that I’ve been meaning to share for a long while – it’s been patiently sitting on my desktop in a folder for months now, labelled ‘must post’). Things have been a little quiet on bridaleditor.com but that’s all about to change. Prepare, 2025 bride, to be swept up in wave of achingly cool bridal style, wedding dress and accessory low-downs and designer insights for 2025. Basically, if you’re after cool bridal fashion on tap, this is the place you need to be.
You’ll have probably already seen this glittering editorial by the talented wedding and event planner, DCL Weddings & Events and photographer Photominagraphy on one of your daily Instagram scrolls, but for me it wasn’t enough to share these gloriously playful images, I wanted the full low-down on the inspiration behind these edgy, electric frames. With that in mind, I reached out to Dilara, founder of DCL Weddings & Events with a mini Q&A in tow. And BOY, can this skilled wedding and events planner turn a concept around. And, those photographs? I love the way in which Photominagraphy expertly captures the texture, joy and movement in every single frame – all with a cool, understated edge.

No.1 What was the initial inspiration for the editorial?
“The focus was on disco balls right from the start. Most settings in connection with disco balls were usually funky and colourful. We wanted to set the disco balls in an elegant, timeless and natural setting. Hence the combination with nude and matt white. Everything came together to create a sophisticated overall design.”
No.2 I love the playful style of the champagne/dessert table shots. What do you suggest to couples to think about when requesting images like this for their own wedding day?
“Focus on yourselves and forget everything around you. At that moment, it’s all about having fun together. Celebrate yourselves in this moment. All the ups and downs you have mastered as a couple and the fact that you are together. Everything else will come naturally.”
No.3 When it came to the bride’s style, what made you pick these two dresses? And the accessories? (I feel like the 2025 bride will love it all, FYI)
“In fact, the pearl necklace was the focus of the first look. Our jewellery designer outdid herself with this piece and I really wanted to put this necklace in the foreground. To do this, I looked for a dress that didn’t offer any distractions. The smooth fabric of the two-piece without lace or similar distractions was perfect. Nevertheless, the bow and the open midriff are eye-catching without distracting from the actual highlight of the necklace.
For the second look, I definitely wanted a dress with sleeves. I wanted something striking and bold. A look for a bride who is self-confident and daring. The dress should be the focus here and the accessories should stay in the background. That’s why we created a look here in which the hair also takes a back seat and lets the dress make a grand entrance.”
No.4 What kind of bride do you think this editorial will inspire?
“I think the look definitely appeals to a bold bride. Even if the chosen colours seem subtle at first, it’s still a bold concept. It is definitely modern, but also playfully classic. Both the modern bride and the classic bride can be found in this concept.”
No.5 Talk me through the details – this is definitely a dream tablescape! What should couples be thinking about when approaching their own table designs?
“Work your way from a rough idea to the details. Then you don’t run the risk of getting lost in the details, but keep an eye on the overall picture. Try to bring symmetry to the table – groups of three often look better than groups of four. And if you don’t know what to do, get a professional to help you.”
No.6 What are your top tips for successfully building a theme throughout the venue? I love how it works here both inside and out!
“Incorporate the conditions and style of your location into your concept. That’s why your design concept begins with the selection of your location. This is where you define a direction. Of course, you can change a lot with decoration, but the concepts often become more coherent if the location already corresponds a little to your concept.”
