ICON | By Grace Loves Lace

The creators of ‘The World’s Most Pinned Wedding Dress’, Grace Loves Lace are stealing the show again with the arrival of their new 2018 bridal collection, ICON

The new line of gowns are ‘underpinned by a spirit of rebellion that celebrates the iconic woman, not the bride.’ The brand is renowned for challenging the status quo, and the latest collection from the label continues to do so.

ICON brings DREAMY deceptively full skirts to the table, as well as a focus on the hourglass silhouette, charming layers, exotically-trimmed armbands, playful, unexpected details and that signature Grace Loves Lace focus on lace.

At the forefront of the collection’s design, is the concept that brides don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort. “The notion that wild  women  should  not  be tamed is the very reason we  refuse  to  hold  them back  with  restrictive,  rigid elements  like  boning, corseting  and  heavy  fabrics,”  says Grace Loves Lace Founder and Creative Director, Megan Ziems. Ziems was also inspired for this collection by 90s supermodels photographed by Peter Lingbergh who inspired a new mood in the fashion industry.

Further inspired by the quote: ‘Well behaved women seldom make history,’ Ziems continues to bring brides refreshingly new and ever-evolving bridal wear through her work.

“I’m inspired beyond belief  to  represent  the  passionate,  confident and  liberated  women  of  today” says Ziems, who also notes that  her customer has a very strong sense of self. “She is excited by the unexpected and gravitates toward styles that help her express her individuality.”

ICON will be handmade in the label’s Australian studio and delivered worldwide. The collection will be available to buy from June 21, 2018, and will be available via the brand’s website (here)  and Grace Loves Lace showroom destinations.
